During these uncertain and stressful times, we must take care of both our mind and body. In this special workshop, we will practice a soothing and peaceful yin yoga routine by candlleight, specifically designed to help calm your mind and body while melting your anxieties away. Afterwards we will discuss tools that we can utilize throughout our day to remain calm and at peace followed by open discussion.
What is yin yoga?
Yin yoga focuses on passive, seated postures that target the connective tissues in the hips, pelvis and lower spine. Poses are held for about 3-5 minutes.
Yin poses’ long holds offer a chance to reside in stillness; it is a deeply meditative experience. The yin practice provides an opportunity to observe, nurture, soothe, and calm ourselves. The act of carefully taking a posture and tending to our body’s unique set of needs is a form of self-care and loving kindness to oneself. Our bodies store emotions, and yin yoga teaches us how to be gentle, patient, and nonreactive in the face of uncertainty.
